Your Choice Of Enrichment Programs Is A Reflection Of Your Pre-School

Providing high quality, reliable enrichment programs is a competitive advantage for you as you seek to raise enrollment and showcase the widest range of programming for parents considering your pre-school.

Full Academic Curriculum

With a different unit every month, our curriculum covers topics from Nutrition to Occupations, with each month’s songs and dances emphasizing these learning lessons through words, music, and sign language. Each month features lessons in Jazz, Tap, and Ballet, as well as Fitness and Creative Movements, so kids are constantly stimulated by new topics and styles.

Award-winning Original Music

Our professionally-recorded music has been written specifically for this curriculum. It supports our lesson plans, with age-appropriate lyrics and infectious melodies. Parents and schools can find all of our songs on the major streaming platforms too!

Consistent Track Record

Dancercise Kids has been offering classes in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area for over 35 years. As other programs have come and gone, we’re a proven quantity. Reliability and quality are key to offering enrichment classes, and we’ve provided that and more for decades.

Continually Fresh Curriculum For Girls and Boys

We’ve created a curriculum with 36 monthly units, meaning that kids in a pre-school environment will experience new curriculum during their entire enrollment in class, even if they stay in class for 3 years! Designed for girls and boys ages 2-6, no one gets bored in Dancercise Kids!

Decades of working with Minnesota Pre-schools

Dancercise Kids Founder Tessa Pfeifer has been working with childcare centers and pre-schools in Minnesota and beyond since she was a teenager. We’ve seen it all. We understand what you need and how to work with you. We make it easy on you, your teachers, and your parents.

The parents at our center value the convenience of Dancercise being brought to their kids during the day, and they appreciate the unique blend of dance, exercise and education.

Cisa Keller

Director, New Horizon Academy

Dancercise is a fun, energizing and educational experience. The children look forward to dance every week so they can engage in the clever songs and dance movements that are created through strong lesson plans. It is such a fun way to learn!

Judy Maderia

Director, Koala Bear Child Care

Fitness

We always start with a fitness number to get the kids warmed up and their muscles ready for class. Our fitness songs are upbeat and get the kids’ hearts beating! For this example Healthy Habits Unit, our song “Three Things” reminds the kids to sleep well, eat healthy foods, and get some exercise like Dancercise!

Jazz

We’ll tackle a jazz dance each monthly unit. Here we’ll learn a few jazz dance steps to an upbeat and fun song that is associated with our monthly theme. For our example unit “Healthy Habits”, we’ll learn “Gotta Boogie!” with steps including a Boogie-Woogie Wave and a Jump Turn.

Ballet

For our Ballet number in this example unit of Healthy Habits, we’ll learn the dance “I don’t want to go to bed”. We’ll learn some simple ballet steps including a plié and a bourrée turn.

Tap

For our Tap dance in our Healthy Habit example unit, we’ll learn “I Love The Water”, which is definitely going to be an ear-worm for you! We’ll learn a shuffle step and a pas de chat among other movements.

Creative Movements

In our creative movements dance this month, we’ll pretend to be snowflakes, swirling to the ground. This movement encourages us to use our imaginations, remembering that snowflakes are as individual and unique as every one of us!

Tumbling

For our tumbling movement, our instructors will “spot” (hold up) the kids as they practice doing a handstand. This will be dependent on age and ability so as to make sure no one risks getting hurt.

How often are classes held?

Our trained instructor will come into your center at a specific day and time that we agree with you. We have a curated calendar each year that ensures we provide 4 classes per month but account for holidays such as July 4th and Thanksgiving. You can find our current class calendar here.

How do you account for school and national holidays?

We have a specific class calendar that is modified each year to account for holidays, including MLK Day and Independence Day. That means we may sometimes teach 3 or 5 classes in a calendar month, depending on the day of the week classes are taught, and when those holidays fall. On rare occasions, we may schedule a specific make-up class on a different day or date. Our class calendar can be found here.

How do you assign instructors to classes?

We assign our trained instructors to your classes based on the scheduled day and time we agree upon, and the availability of our instructors. We also look to find the best match between schools and instructors based on personality and driving distance for the instructor.

How do I know you're reliable?

We get it – we know many enrichment programs have come and gone over the years. We also know some programs can prove unreliable due to a variety of circumstances. Dancercise Kids has been serving this market for over 30 years and we have long-standing protocols for ensuring classes are taught. In the rare situation where an instructor is sick or a weather event prevents us teaching, we will either arrange a substitute or a make-up class with you.

What's special about your program?

We’ve seen it all over the years. Other programs use rehashed nursery rhymes while we use our own professionally-recorded music customized to this program (check out our music on streaming services here!). Our curriculum includes a different unit, or theme, each month, and each unit includes multiple dances, including Jazz, Tap, and Ballet to keep it fast-paced and fun! Kids are never bored in our classes, and our catchy tunes will are ear-worms for everyone.

Do kids need special clothing or shoes?

Some other programs focus on providing dance instruction only for girls, or require special clothing or shoes. Not us – anyone can participate and kids can participate just the way they are!
