Dancercise Annual Recital 2020 Update

Dear Families and Friends,

Our annual show is scheduled for Sat. May 16, 2020, but pending CDC & State of MN guidelines for group gatherings, this performance date is likely cancelled. There are no details available on a rescheduled date. I will be posting updates on this page.

Our biggest fans are grandparents, but they’re at higher risk for Covid-19 severe illness. This is of great concern to me. I know how excited everyone is for the show, and I don’t want to disappoint anyone, but I also want to keep our loved ones safe.

To offer every child the opportunity to share a special show day in their costume with their families, I have worked very hard to create an at-home follow-along performance video, so your dancer can put on a show in your home. Parents can video and share with grandparents, family and friends.

Practice video (available April 28th):

Practice Video: In the first video, I teach and review the dance steps for the 3 songs your child will perform. I also review the special questions I will ask them in the Show Day video, so they can practice those ahead of time.

Show Day video (available May 4th):

Show Day Video: The second video is the actual Show. Parents should sit with their backs to the TV or computer and face your child. Make sure your dancer can see the screen, so they can follow along with me on the video and answer their special questions. Parents can video tape the Show, to share with grandparents, family and friends.

Note: Costumes were mailed out on April 27th to the home addresses of all families that ordered one; fees were paid to manufacturers in February and are non-refundable.

I hope this at-home show provides something fun for your dancer to do and a special event for your entire family to look forward to. Let me know if you have any questions about the videos, or if there is anything I can do to make your dancer’s show even more special.

Have a Happy Show Day!
